Cheap Five Dollar Dress is a loose translation of my last name, Finfrock in German. A literal translation, from what I’m told, is “Five Coats.”

It has long been a family joke about Cheap Five Dollar Dress. With a last name like Finfrock, you have to embrace the weirdness.

And yes… I’ve heard every variation and butchering of Finfrock.. so don’t waste your time trying to be clever.

I’ve embraced the Cheap Five Dollar Dress name and it is a good conversation starter when I meet someone… and it’s a good name for a blog, it turns out.
